The fast of Kamika Ekadashi (Kamika Ekadashi 2020) is observed on Ekadashi date of Shravan month Krishna Paksha.It is also called Pavitra Ekadashi.

With the effect of this fast, all the vices of the fast are made.  The fast receives the fruit similar to Ashwamedha Yagya.  

On this Ekadashi, a person who worships Lord Vishnu during the month of Savan, worships Gandharvas and Nagas.

Kamika Ekadashi 2020 - Auspicious time for Pooja.

Ekadashi date commences - 15 July 2020, at 10:23 PM.

Ekadashi date ends - 16 July 2020, at 11:47 PM.

Fasting Paran time - 17 July morning from 5: 59 minutes to 8: 10 minutes

Kamika Ekadashi Puja Method-

To worship Lord Vishnu by taking a bath on this day and taking a fast, worship with fruits, flowers, sesame, milk and panchamrut etc. and remember the name of Lord Vishnu and pray hymn by staying waterless for eight hours and finally the Brahmin  After giving food, give away the donation, then take the food yourself.  In this way, all the wishes of those who keep the fast of Kamika Ekadashi are fulfilled.

Importance of Kamika Ekadashi

The special significance of Kamika Ekadashi has been told.In the Mahabharata period, Lord Krishna himself told the Pandavas about the great moon of Ekadashi.  

It is believed that keeping fast and worshiping Kamika Ekadashi eliminates all kinds of suffering from life.  

Happiness attains prosperity. Success is achieved in life and fathers are also happy.  By observing the fast of Kamika Ekadashi one also gets freedom from sins.  

Even the problems of previous birth are overcome.  That is why the fruits of this fast are considered to be the best fruit in both the world and the hereafter.

Special coincidence of Saavn month

The lord of Lord Vishnu is Lord Shiva and Lord of Lord Shiva is Lord Vishnu.  

The arrival of Ekadashi in Saavan month is a special coincidence.Also on the day of Ekadashi, amrit kaal is also being felt.  

It has been told in the scriptures that whoever worships Lord Narayana in the month of Saavan with true heart, he gets Baikuntha Dham.


Kuntiputra Dharmaraja Yudhishthira once asked in the Mahabharata period to Shri Krishna said, “O Lord, please tell me the name and importance of Shravan Krishna Ekadashi?

Sri Krishna said, O Yudhishthira!  Once upon a time, Lord Brahma has also told the story of this Ekadashi to Devarshi Narada, so I also tell you the same.

Naradji expressed his desire to hear the story of Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Shravan month from Brahma.Wanted to know the name, method and significance of that Ekadashi.

Brahma said- "O Narada!  The name of Krishna Ekadashi of Shravan month is Kamika Ekadashi.  

Just by listening to this Ekadashi fast one gets the result of Vajpayee Yajna.On this date, Shankh, Chakra and Gadadhari Sri Vishnu is worshiped.  

Listen to the fruits that result from worshiping them.

Bathing in the Ganges, Kashi, Naimisharanya and Pushkar, the fruit that comes from worshiping Lord Vishnu.  

By taking bath in Kurukshetra and Kashi at the time of sun and lunar eclipse, donating the land, at the time of Leo sign coming to Jupiter, the fruits which are not obtained even by bathing in Godavari and Gandaki river, it is obtained from lord devotion and worship.

People afraid of sin must observe Kamika Ekadashi fast.

There is no way to destroy sins more than Ekadashi fast.Prabhu himself has said that no creature is born in Kuyoni due to Kamika fast.
