RAKSHABANDHAN 2020 - STORIES FROM MYTHOLOGY AND HISTORY.
India is called a country of festivals, many festivals are celebrated here from time to time.
One such festival is Rakshabandhan which is celebrated as a symbol of brotherly love.
Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan month. On this day, the sisters tie a rakhi on the wrists of their brothers and wish them a long life and the brothers also pledge to protect their sister forever.
During this time there are also programs of worship and havan at home. On the day of Rakshabandhan, donation is considered to be of special importance.
On this day food is given to Brahmins and charity is also given.
The day of Raksha Bandhan is also considered as a symbol of Guru-disciple tradition.
According to the scriptures, in the month of Shravan, all the sages performed a yagna in the ashram and on the Shravan-Purnima, the yagna was performed.
When the yagna was over, the sages of the ashram used to provide protection to their disciples and recite mantras to protect them.
Earlier it was known as Raksha-sutra but now it is being called Rakhi.
Earlier it was known as Raksha-sutra but now it is being called Rakhi.
Even today, Brahmins chant the mantra, while wearing the threads of protection on the wrist.
येन बद्धो बली राजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबल:।
तेन त्वामनुबध्नामि रक्षे मा चल मा चल।।
Yean Badhdo Bali Raja Danvendro Mahabalm.
Tean Tvamnubadhnami Rashy M Chal M Chal.
The meaning of this mantra is - I bind you with the formula of protection (Rakhi) from which Atibali Raksharaj Bali was tied.
O Raksasutra Tu also protect it in all ways.
Laxmi ji started this tradition
It is said that the credit for the beginning of Rakshabandhan goes to Lakshmi.
Yes, if you look at the mythological beliefs, first of all Lakshmi ji started this festival by tying the Raksasutra to the sacrifice.
It is said that in the mythological period, Lord Narayana was greatly influenced by the sacrifice of the Asuras, King Bali, for their charity.
One day King Bali was performing Ashwamedha Yagya.
One day King Bali was performing Ashwamedha Yagya.
Lord Narayana approaches Vamana with an avatar to test Raja Bali.He took everything in charity in just three steps.
After taking all of King Bali, Narayan asked him to ask for his promise.Bali asked Narayan that whenever I go to sleep, whenever I wake up, wherever I look, I will see you.
On hearing the sacrifice, Lord Narayan held his head and said that he has made me his watchman.
It has won everything even after defeat. Lord Narayana was committed to King Bali.many months had passed in Hades as a watchman.
On the other hand, wife Lakshmi ji's concern about Lord Narayana was increasing.
Meanwhile, one day Narada ji came to Lakshmi ji and he put all his agony in front of Narada ji. Then Narada ji said that Lord Narayana remains the guard of King Bali in Hades.
Lakshmi arrived crying to King Bali in an avatar of a beautiful woman.
Bali said, why are you crying?
Then Lakshmi ji said that I have no brother, therefore I am sad. Then Bali said that you become the sister of my religion.
Then Lakshmi took the promise, and said, I want this guard of yours. In her promise, Lakshmi ji got her husband Narayan and since then the festival of Rakshabandhan started.
Lord Krishna narrated to Yudhishthira
This story behind the tying of Raksha Sutra shri krishana Yudhishthira asked Lord Krishna the question - 'O Achutha! Listen to me the story of Raksha Bandhan, which arouses all human crises.
Then Lord Krishna told the story that - O Pandava Shrestha! Once there was a war between gods and demons, this war continued for twelve consecutive years.
The Asuras defeated the gods in which the god Indra was also defeated. In such a situation all Devgan and Indra went to Amravati.
The demon king subdued the three worlds and told everyone that everyone should worship him and not any other deity, with this command of the demon king Yajna worship and festivities etc. all stopped.
Truth and religion began to perish due to which the gods began to weaken.
Then Indra went to his Guru Brihaspati and held his feet and said - O Guruvar! It is such a situation that I have to die here.
Then Indra went to his Guru Brihaspati and held his feet and said - O Guruvar! It is such a situation that I have to die here.
Neither I can flee nor fight in the battlefield. Tell me any solution to this dilemma. Then Jupiter, on hearing Indra's anguish, asked him to make a defense.
On the morning of Shravan Purnima, Jupiter chanted the mantras and gave Raksha Sutras to Indra.
After this, Indrani tied Raksha Sutras to Indra's right wrist on the auspicious occasion of Shravani Purnima and sent her to fight in the battlefield.
The demons were defeated by the impact of this Rakshasutra tied by Indrani and Indra won.
The practice of tying rakhi started from here.
The holy festival of Rakshabandhan is a unique festival to increase love and brotherhood in the society.
The special importance of Rakhi is also told on the pages of history that how a brother has obeyed his sister's Rakhi, and the sister has developed a sense of respect and affection for her brother.
It became more famous in the world...
According to the stories of Shri Krishna and Draupadi
Once Lord Krishna's hand gets hurt and a lot of blood starts to flow from the wound that Draupadi gets frightened by and immediately looks at her saree.
A rebbon tore it up and tied it in the hands of Shri Krishna.Like a sister ties a rakhi to her brother's wrist.
After this, Sri Krishna's blood stops by Draupadi tearing the sari and tying it.
Then, when Druhasan is tearing Draupadi, Draupadi requests help from her brother Krishna, then Krishna increases rip and saves her honor.
Jahangir and Panna's Rakhi
Battle was a fierce quarrel in two princely states of Rajasthan. One of the princely states was invaded by the Mughals.
After getting such an opportunity, the other princely Rajputs were ready to support the Mughals.
Panna was also surrounded by these Mughals. In such a situation, Panna sent a rakhi to Jahangir, the ruler of another princely state, who was going to help the Mughals.
Jahangir was very happy as soon as he found Rakhi and considered him Panna as his sister and helped him in the opposite attack on the Mughals and the Mughals of the opposition were defeated.
In this way, Panna sent a rakhi to Jahangir and tied the rulers of the two princely states in a thread of firm friendship.
Rakhi of Karnavati and Humayun
The Hindurani Karnavati of Chittor sent a rakhi to him, considering Humayun, the Mughal emperor of Delhi as his brother.
Humayun accepted Rani Karnavati's Rakhi and when the time came,he fought with the emperor of Gujarat to protect the honor of the queen.
In the medieval era, there was a struggle between the Rajputs and the Muslims.
Rani Karnavati was the widow of the king of Chittor. Rani Karnavati was horrified when Bahadur Shah received a warning to attack Mewar.
Rani Karnavati was unable to fight Bahadur Shah.seeing no way of protecting her subjects, Rani sent a rakhi to Humayun.
Humayun took care of Rakhi and reached Mewar and fought against Bahadur Shah on behalf of Mewar and protected Karnavati and her kingdom.
Actually, Humayun was going to invade Bengal at that time but left his campaign midway to protect Rani and Mewar.
Epilogue - People of India are very proud of this festival, known as the love symbol of siblings, but in India, where this special festival is celebrated for sisters, the art of some brothers is left alone.
Because of the conservative thinking of some people, the girl is killed in the womb before birth. There are some places where the birth of a girl is considered a curse even today.
It is very embarrassing that in a country where women have come to the moon, on the other side they are not allowed to be born on this earth.
If this thinking is not changed soon, then this world is going to be destroyed because when there is no woman, then how will this world go.
